I’m Anne Deanovic,
Communications Strategist and Founder of Hot Mustard PR.
Fifteen years ago, I dove into the world of high-energy, fast-paced public relations. Serving as account director for several large, global agencies equipped me with the tools to understand audiences, craft a compelling story, reach media and influencers, and work collaboratively with every marketer at the brand dance. On top of putting PR programs together, I managed large budgets and fostered daily client relationships. It is truly a career choice for someone who likes to wear multiple hats.
Fast forward to 2016. I took on a side project for a local restaurant I happened to like quite a bit. There was an immediate difference. I was able to work at my own pace (quickly). My client and I met face-to-face. And I could see the real effect of spreading the story throughout the local community. Instantaneously, I was hooked. And Hot Mustard PR was born.
Long story short, I never looked back. I still collaborate with agencies, however mostly work with Twin Cities-based companies, including restaurants, retailers, even entire retail districts.
For giving me the foundation to run my own PR practice, I am indebted to the wonderful agency experiences I had at Weber Shandwick, Hill & Knowlton, mono and Olson Engage (now ICF Next). Before agency life, I graduated from Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana, and received an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University’s Medill School.
I’m a born and bred Minnesotan and, after a stint in Chicago, am back living in Minneapolis with my husband, Pete, three young daughters and gigantic goldendoodle. I’m always dreaming of either cabin time or mountain time, as well as food … always food.
Thanks for checking out Hot Mustard PR!
